What happened
Citrini Research published a 79-page report titled “Breaking The Wall” on October 8, 2026, arguing that tokenized assets and agentic AI favor fee-earning crypto infrastructure over a simple Bitcoin or Ether bet. Its named picks are ether.fi, Aave, Uniswap, Pendle and Ondo, which together carry 29% of a 15-token sample portfolio. In a separate public-markets portfolio, Securitize takes 20%, Circle 18% and Coinbase 18%.
Reported details
- The five named weights are ether.fi at 10%, Aave at 9%, Uniswap at 4%, Pendle at 3% and Ondo at 3%, combining for 29% of the crypto sample portfolio. The remaining 71% is spread across ten other tokens in the basket.
- In the equity basket, Securitize at 20%, Circle at 18% and Coinbase at 18% account for 56% of the allocation.
- The report’s argument rests on two converging forces: tokenization of traditional assets, and agentic AI able to transact on its own. Citrini frames this as a path to finance that trades around the clock under coded rules.
- The firm puts particular emphasis on the rails for trading, lending and derivatives on tokenized assets. Citrini Research counted more than 260,000 Substack subscribers as of early October 2026, and SemiAnalysis acquired the firm in September 2026.
Why this matters
The picks are a statement about where value accrues rather than a forecast about the next market cycle. Every named token is positioned as infrastructure that earns fees when tokenized stocks, bonds and loans move through it, which means the thesis is testable against on-chain usage rather than sentiment. The report is explicit that rising blockchain activity does not guarantee a matching rise in token prices, so activity and price are separate claims here. The equity sleeve is the more unusual detail: naming Securitize, Circle and Coinbase at those weights treats issuance and settlement rails as the beneficiaries, not the platforms that host the trading.
Evidence boundary
The scope is limited to what the linked reports state, and where two of them diverge both positions are recorded without either being picked in advance. Portfolio weights are the firm’s own sample allocation; neither source states a price target or a return forecast for any of the five tokens.
What to verify
Check whether the report assigns fee or revenue estimates to the named protocols, since that is the link between the infrastructure thesis and token value. The allocation figures are from the sample portfolio and should not be read as a disclosed position.
